Shennong Mushroom Company: Seafood mushroom production expands into a green and sunrise industry

Recently, in Fujian Shennong Mushroom Joint Stock Company which lies in Shunchang County, Nanping City, Fujian Province of China, picking and packing work of Seafood mushroom (Hypsizygus marmoreus (Peck) H.E.Bigelow) are in smooth progress.

“Nowadays, in our company, daily sales of Seafood mushroom account for 35% of that of China’s gross sales,” explains Mr. Chi Maolian, chairman and general manager of Shennong Company warmly, introducing that daily sales on fresh Seafood mushroom reach 100 tons within the company.

In the busiest time, there are nearly 60 enterprises engaging in industrialized production of Seafood mushroom in Shunchang County, which creates the annual output value of 1 billion CNY. In 2017, gross mushroom output attained 93,000 tons in Shunchang County and output value hit 920 million CNY, of which output value of Seafood mushroom accounted for 850 million CNY.

However, behind the splendour and brightness, now, varied quality of Seafood mushroom produced by enterprises has become the bottleneck that restricts the development of mushroom industry in Shunchang County.

“In order to master core competitiveness in agriculture, we have to refine and deepen the industry,” said Mr. Xiao Donglai, deputy director of Agriculture Bureau of Shunchang County.

Now, Fujian Shennong Mushroom Joint Stock Company is the one and only enterprise that engages in automatic mushroom production in China, and the company has also formulated the standard of Seafood Mushroom Industry. Next step, Shennong Mushroom Company will be set as the example to help other mushroom growers simplify procedures and output superior and low-cost Seafood mushroom products.
