New strain of Hypsizygus marmoreus was developed to satisfy the basket of consumers

On November 19, scientific research staffs working in Agricultural College of Tianjin City are checking on the growth condition of Hypsizygus marmoreus.

Over the years, Agricultural College of Tianjin City has been actively establishing cooperation with Tianjin Lvsheng Pengyuan Agricultural Technology Development Co., LTD, especially on aspect of scientific research and production of Hypsizygus marmoreus. Up to now, new strain of Hypsizygus marmoreus has been jointly developed by the two parties while its trial cultivation has been launched.

Hypsizygus marmoreus carries unique umami of crab, and it hence gains the name of Crab mushroom and Seafood mushroom. Nowadays, Hypsizygus marmoreus covers two species: light gray and pure white, both of them gain popularity by consumers.

Hypsizygus marmoreus is packed with ample nutrition, according to analysis, each 100g of fresh Hypsizygus marmoreus contain 3.22g crude protein, 0.22g crude fat, 1.68g coarse fiber, 4.56g carbohydrate, 1.32g ash content and so on.

Since the 1970s, Hypsizygus marmoreus became a massive hit in Japanese market, then it was introduced to China. During 1986-1990, Hypsizygus marmoreus was cultivated in small area in Shandong, Henan, Hebei, Shanxi and other provinces while it was also exported to Japan in fresh and salted form.
