Hunan Province: Industrialized Pleurotus geesteranus production yields considerable benefits

In recent years, mushroom industry has been leading rapid development trend in Changde City, Hunan Province of China, enterprises engaging in industrialized (factory-pattern) mushroom production vigorously spring up within the city. 
Now, in Yongchuntang Biotechnology Co., LTD, new pattern of industrialized Pleurotus geesteranus production has been initially launched, and it gains over 10 times of benefits compared with traditional mode. And, the pattern has been powerfully promoted by Fangju Village of Changde City, which guarantees anniversary production, lifts economic benefits and drives farmers to increase incomes.
“Now, we place 200,000 mushroom bags, annual output on fresh Pleurotus geesteranus comes to above 1000 tons, annual output value hits 8 million CNY,” said director of one of mushroom bases in Fangju Village courteously, going on that during the picking period, the base provides jobs for over 40 villagers and helps them generate the monthly wage of 2000 CNY or so.
Known as Small Oyster Mushroom, Pleurotus geesteranus is a kind of high-protein and low-fat mushroom variety which carries the efficiency of clearing away heat and toxic material, curing stomach cold, and it gains popularity among consumers. However, affected by natural factors, Pleurotus geesteranus produced in traditional greenhouse comes into season merely in Winter. Industrialized production technology followed by Fangju Village is to implement temperature difference stimulation by mobile refrigeration equipment in accordance with the growth characteristic of Fangju Pleurotus geesteranus, which ensures the smooth growth of Pleurotus geesteranus under high-temperature condition and promotes the anniversary production.
