China’s Horizon: Irresistible trend of industrialized mushroom production

According to statistics, from 2011-2016, under the stimulation of stable growth of household consumption. Mushroom demand went up to 34.65 million tons from 25.91 million tons in China.
As the world’s largest nation of mushroom production, China’s mushroom output accounts for 70% of the world’s one. Now, there are 60 mushroom varieties which could be artificially cultivated, including Shiitake, Black fungus, Oyster, Enoki, White, King oyster, White fungus, Straw, Drumstick, Agrocybe cylindracea, Pholiota nameko, Hypsizigus marmoreus and Auricularia polytricha. Among them, Shiitake ranks first in aspect of output, showing 25.5%. And, the second place belongs to Black fungus, accounting for 19.3%.
In China, Henan, Shandong, Heilongjiang, Fujian, Jilin, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Hubei, Guangxi are major province of mushroom production, of which total quantity of mushroom enterprise attains 400 in Fujian, Jiangsu and Shandong Province.
From 2012-2016, China’s mushroom output experienced big fluctuation on output growth and reached at a range of 4.2%-12.3%. In 2012, gross mushroom output attained 26.37 million tons in China while it went up to 35.16 million tons in 2016.
Industrialized mushroom production achieves mechanization, standardization, and anniversary mode. It has basically solved a series of issues on environmental and food safety, realized the maximization of cyclic utilization of agricultural production, and it is indeed the mainstream development direction in the future.
