The city’s largest base realizes the annual mushroom output value of 500 million CNY

For years, the mushroom industry in Yongchuan District, Chongqing City, Sichuan Province of China has been leading leapfrog development starting from scratch and expanding from small to big. Yongchuan District has become the largest mushroom base in Chongqing City, the cultivation scale accounts for 70% of the city while Pleurotus geesteranus takes 90% of share in Chongqing City. 
According to know, in 2016, mushroom cultivation scale reached 100 million bags in Yongchuan District, the gross production obtained 50,000 tons while the production value achieved 500 million CNY. Besides, over 2000 people were provided with job near their homes. By the end of this year, the expected production scale could reach 120 million bags, the production capacity intends to obtain 60,000 tons while the production value totals 600 million CNY. 
The followings are three characteristics of mushroom industry in Yongchuan District:
1. Industrialized cultivation has taken shape: Till now, the district has formed the development pattern of industrialized mushroom cultivation mode which takes small, medium and large enterprise as the main body. The whole district holds 16 standardized mushroom enterprises.
2. More complete mushroom varieties: Mushroom varieties in the district involve Shiitake, Bamboo fungus, Button mushroom, Monkey head mushroom, Black fungus, Oyster mushroom, Enoki mushroom, White fungus, Stropharia rugoso-annulata, Pleurotus geesteranus, Agrocybe cylindracea, Drumstick mushroom and others.
3. The ecological circular agriculture which focuses on mushroom has taken shape. The whole district promotes the operation mode of “Rice-Mushroom”, “Vegetable-Mushroom”, “Forest-Mushroom”, “Mulberry Twigs-Mushroom”, “Mushroom-Fish” which occupy over 500 mu in total.
