Shiitake cultivation implies 60 times of revenues higher than corn farming

Since this year, Xinyingzi Village, Baotou City, Inner Mongolia has been adjusting cultivation structure and exploiting new path for farmers to raise revenues. Till now, 35 Shiitake greenhouses have been successively built, each greenhouse could produce 10,000 sticks, 7 flushes of Shiitake could be harvested from May to September, the average annual output in each greenhouse comes to 2500kg, the conservative incomes total 30,000 CNY, mushroom cultivators are feeling apparent that Shiitake cultivation holds 60 times of revenues higher than corn farming.
Since April, Xinyingzi Village has been introducing Shiitake project with the gross investment of 10 million CNY. So far, a Shiitake base holding the annual output of 3 million tons has been built, the estimated annual sales revenues could add up to 11 million CNY while over 120 people could be encouraged to get jobs. After the operation of Shiitake project, the base has become the vital platform for local poor households to learn cultivation technology and get jobs, more and more poor households are being propelled to make contact with mushroom industry and open up flourishing channels.
