Shiitake cultivation leads villagers to overcome poverty and grow rich

According to know, Wenxi Village, Hunan Province of China holds 667 poor households totaling 2637 poor people, however, the village owns lush forest, advantageous air humidity and temperature that are suitable for Shiitake cultivation. Recent years, the village has been taking precise poverty alleviation as the main guide, and embracing on the goal of poverty removal and income-generating, now, the village has become “The county of Shiitake”, built 6 specialized Shiitake cooperatives and 20 refrigeration houses.
“We built Shiitake greenhouse in 2011, the economic benefits are becoming better and better while the scale is enlarging, now, i annually cultivate 20,000 Shiitake sacks in 2 mu of land, which generates the annual revenues of 80,000-90,000 CNY,” according to one of local Shiitake farmers passionately.
