Yunnan: Wild mushroom production decline because of predatory exploiting

It is reported that there are about 800 kinds of wild mushrooms in Yunnan, account for nationwide of three quarters , which ranks first in China. However, Yunnan wild mushroom production declines recently years. According to the data, which was provided by Yunnan Mushroom Industry Development Office, Tricholoma matsutake exported 708.9 tons in 2014, with year-on-year decline of 9.3 percent, and the expert value is 38.37 million USD, with year-on-year decline of 5.4 percent. On the other hand, Boletus exported 7041.3 tons in 2014, with year-on-year decline of 22 percent, and the expert value is 48.52 million USD, with year-on-year decline of 16 percent.
According to the analysis, the main reason of wild mushroom production decline is predatory exploiting. For Truffle, the best collection season is from Late November to Early March, but start to pick Truffle after the rainy season.
With "Yunnan Wild Mushroom Resources Protection Measures" coming, wild mushrooms have the protection of the law. Meanwhile, protecting forest and cultivating mushroom policies are also promoted widely. Therefore, we hope Yunnan wild mushroom could break through the dilemma of production decline.
