Yunnan: The output of wild mushrooms in 2014 was 80 thousand tons creating the value of 6.78 billion

Till now, there are 882 wild edible mushroom species found in Yunnan Province, which accounts for 43% of the world’s known 2000 wild edible mushroom species. In the meantime, 70% of the wild edible mushrooms in Chinese market are produced from Yunnan Province. Matsutake, Porcini and Truffles are exported to over 40 countries around the world. The annual export amount is over 100 million dollars, followed by tobacco, coffee and vegetables. 
Last year, the output of wild edible mushroom was 80 thousand tons, which created the value of 6.78 billion CNY. Besides, the per-capita income of local mushroom grower exceeded 1000 CNY, the income of wild edible mushroom accounted for 30 to 70% in the total family income.
