Tibet: Low-temperature edible mushrooms can be supplied by year-round production

Tibet is located in the plateau, it is surrounded by beautiful environment. Edible mushrooms cultivated there are favored by domestic and international consumers. Of late years, Lhasa actively introduced edible mushroom cultivation techniques, expanded edible mushroom production scale for promoting specialty mushroom industry. 
According to the manager of Vegetables Institution of Tibet Agricultural Sciences Academy, because of the special weather in Tibet of warm in winter and cool in summer, some low-temperature mushroom species, such as, Enoki mushroom and Shiitake, can be cultivated under suitable temperature, humidity and ventilation. 
Low-temperature edible mushrooms can be cultivated all the year round in Tibet. At present, there are two modern edible mushroom production bases in Lhasa. It is projected to build and invest the third one in the next year.
