Recently, the manager of Jiangsu Guanghao Edible Mushroom Cooperative found wild Straw mushrooms in the willow wood located in about 1000 meters from their edible fungus base. According to the manager, there is no mushroom farmer around there. The reason why wild Straw mushrooms can be found in this forest may be appropriate temperature and humidity after the rain.
Straw mushroom is also called as Volvariella volvacea, it grows in both north and south of China. It is a type of saprophytic fungi growing in tropical and subtropical area in summer. The history of Straw mushroom cultivation is nearly 200 years. It tastes good and has rich nutritional value.
