Sichuan: Rap straw has been used for making mushroom substrate

It is well-known that rap straw cannot be decayed easily. Compared with wheat straw and rice straw, the utilization rate of rap straw is low. This year, Sichuan Furuida Bio-tech Co., Ltd and Chengdu Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences united and studied the biological fermentation of rap straw. It has been found that rap straw can be used for mushroom cultivation, the question of low utilization rate has been solved. In the process of making substrate, rap straw need to be cut more fragile and be decayed. It is finally mixed with corn and chaff hull as nutritional mushroom substrate. 
At present, Sichuan Furuida Bio-tech Co., Ltd purchases rap straw by the price of 500 CNY per ton. The mushroom substrate made by rap straw has been used for Oyster mushroom and Shaggy Mane cultivation. 50 kg rap straw produce about 60 kg mushroom, which reduces 30% production cost and increase 20% production.
