Zhejiang: Shiitake's price is increasing and will reach peak in May and June

Recently, the fresh Shiitake’s price is rising in Wanshouting agricultural products market of Zhejing province. The price rose by 2 to 3 CNY during one week. At present, the fresh Shiitake price is 20-26CNY/KG, increases 14% compared with the same period last year. The producing areas are Shandong, Hebei and other places.
Shiitake’s price is growing because the growth circle of Shiitake is about 80 days. It is the fruiting peak season during every November and next February. Now picking work is nearly finished.The decreasing amount of Shiitake causes the increasing price. The annual production of fresh Shiitake of Zhejiang province is over 400 thousand tons. 85% of them is produced from the end of October to the end of next April. According to the previous market quotation, Shiitake's price will reach the highest in May and June.
