2015-03-13 10:55:04
According to the statistics from Lishui Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, there were 245 batches of edible mushrooms that were exported from Lishui after the inspection and quarantine from this January and February. It costs 8.7013 million dollars, which declines by 17.8% and 31.9% respectively compared with the one of last year.
Based on the research on exporting mushroom enterprises, the reason why the export amount decreased could be concluded into three parts. Firstly, the devaluation of foreign currency impacts enterprises’ profits, the initiative of export is reducing. Previously, Japan and EU are the main market on mushroom export. However, from the last October, the devaluation of the euro and JPY makes the enterprises suffered loss due to the exchange rate fluctuation. Secondly, the demand of edible mushroom market is weak, there is no choice but reducing prices for enterprises. Thirdly, the strict technical barrier of America makes mushroom companies cautious to expand the market. From last September, the US Food and Drug Administration tightened the inspection of edible mushrooms, much more quality reports are needed. It is difficult to develop new customers due to more high export standards.
Lishui, which is the main production area of edible mushroom in China, has positively coped with three effective methods for export. It consists of ensuring safety, avoiding risks, and improving quality. Mushroom companies devote themselves to improving the safety level of products quality , using reasonable currency hedging tools, and realizing the technique transformation of products.
