Shandong: Button mushroom vertical growing and industrialized production with significant benefits

It is learned that Kangfa Canned Food Ltd., located in Difang township, Pingyi county, Shandong province, introduced new Button Mushroom species and cultivating technology from USA, building 32 mushrooms with automatic temperature control, implementing vertical growing with five layers in winter 2014. This project invested totally 23 million CNY, setting up 7 main function zones including a research and office area, raw material reserves zone, et al., , further improving mushroom recycling industry chain, and gradually forming an comprehensive industrialized producing base including mushroom research and development, production, cultivation, processing, cold storage. Annual mushroom output reached 2300 tons with sales income 21 million CNY. Button Mushrooms production not only was favored by the local consumers, its deep-processed products but also were sold to more than 20 countries and region, such as USA, Germany, Russia, Japan, South Korea, et al. Meanwhile, the mushroom base also drove the farmers around to improve their income, with considerable social and economic benefits.
