Hericium mushroom cropping yields a flourishing future

On November 14, Hericium mushrooms cultivated in base of Jinpen Village, Yangchang Town, Guizhou Province of China are in desirable growth trend.

“The base absorbs 240,000 sticks, output on each stick reaches 1kg, after two months of picking period, Hericium mushrooms are sold at the market price of 6 CNY per kg. By 2018, the projected economic benefits hit 1.5 million CNY,” introduces person in charge of the base, adding that next step, he intends to expand cultivation scale and lead more farmers to plunge into this prosperous industry.

Yangchang Town lies at an average altitude of 920 meters, average annual precipitation reaches 1278 mm while average annual temperature is 14.6 degrees Celsius, which fits for growth of Hericium mushroom.

Hericium mushroom is also recognized as Lion's mane and Monkey head mushroom, it is a kind of edible and medicinal mushroom belonging to the tooth fungus group.
