Cultivation season and fruiting management of Coprinus comatus

1. Cultivation Season: Coprinus comatus is a kind of Grass-rot Faecal Fungus which holds strong adaptability, and it is categorized into medium-temperature type, suitable temperature range for growth of mycelia is 23-28 degrees Celsius, proper temperature range for the occurrence of fruiting bodies is 15-18 degrees Celsius.
Coprinus comatus can be cultivated in spring and autumn, in autumn cultivation, growers generally make Production Spawn during June-August, and fruiting time arrives from the end of September to early December. And in the case of spring cultivation, growers generally make Production Spawn from November to next February, and fruiting time sets in from April to June.
Coprinus comatus holds adaptive capacity to environment, thus it could be cropped on the ground, or in cellar in four seasons.
2. Fruiting Management:
YOUNG BUD: Young-bud period is the stage that strictly requires on growth environment during the fruiting period, during that period, the optimal temperature and humidity is respectively at 20 degrees Celsius and 90% or so. Besides, moderate ventilation should be enhanced, fresh air should be maintained while 100-300 Lux of illumination should be guaranteed.
YOUNG MUSHROOM: When mushrooms are in young period, suitable temperature and humidity is 15-20 degrees Celsius and 85%-95% in respective, besides, illumination should be regulated under 300 Lux and strong wind should be strictly avoided in greenhouse.
ADULT MUSHROOM: As fruiting bodies constantly grow and evolve, requirement on growth condition is becoming extensive, during that time, ideal temperature, air humidity and illumination is respectively at 15 degrees Celsius, 85%-95% and 100-300 Lux. Ventilation should be strengthened along with the growth of mushroom bodies but strong wind should also be strictly averted.
