Jiangsu Province: Off-peak mushroom marketing season highlights product superiorities

“Peak marketing season of Shiitake mushroom usually arrives at the end of October while Shiitake mushrooms farmed in our cooperative came into the market in August of 2018,” introduces chairman of Sanxin Mushroom Cooperative warmly, going on that they keep away from the market competitiveness in peak season, which exaggerates their product superiorities. Traditional slack production season of Shiitake mushroom is the peak marketing season in Sanxin Mushroom Cooperative.
Shiitake mushrooms don’t care for hot season and the suitable temperature for its growth is at a range of 20-25 degrees Celsius. For summer Shiitake growing, cooling and ventilation are of crucial importance. Besides, Shiitake growing holds a long period, it generally takes 120 days from inoculation to fruiting, color-changing period usually arrives at the fortieth days of the growth period, which transforms Shiitake mushrooms from white to brown color, thus fine and careful management should be accomplished during that time.
During color-changing period, piercing machine should be introduced for piercing work on Shiitake logs, averagely 100 holes on each log, to let logs fully absorb oxygen and go through normal color-changing.
