The culture medium for Shiitake cultivation with corncob consists of corncob crumbs and some added materials." EX03" is a suitable Shiitake species for corncob crumbs, its fruiting temperature ranges 5-25℃, having a higher yield than ones cultivated with bagged wood chips, even they have the same qulity and color. The key points for cultivation are stated as follows:
ⅠPreparation for incubation materials
1,Formulation: 80% Corncob crumbs , 18% wheat bran, 1% gypsum powder and sugar, 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate , 130% water.
2,Preparation method: Weighing according to formulation, turning and mixing evenly, pile boring for two hours, after turning and mixing again, checking the moisture to keep about 65%, then building heap fermentation, turning and mixing 2-3 times.
Ⅱ Bagging and sterilization
1,making bags.
A piece of polypropylene films with 15 cm width are cut into some plastic pieces with 55 cm length, which are made into the cultivation bags.
2, filling bags
After fermented fully, 1 Kg of incubation materials are filled into the cultivation bags in which is fitted tightly and compacted, then the bag mouth is tightly sealed with string.
3, sterilization.
Ⅲ punching and inoculating.
Randomly selecting the prepared bags and punching and vaccination with wide-open type. After vaccination, the bags are put a clean room for incubation without sunlight at 15-25 ℃, after 50-60 days of incubation, the mycelium can cover the whole bag.
Ⅳ Fruiting management
When, It is the proper time to harvest when the mushroom cap grows to 5-10 cm and the cap edge doesn’t fully spread. Fresh Skiitake could be harvested 4-5 times, biological transformation rate reach 150-250%.
