Now, in Yuanquan Mushroom Cooperative which stands in Xifeng County, Tieling City, Liaoning Province of China, Pleurotus cornucopiae independently developed by the cooperative are popping heads out of mushroom bags and showing satisfactory growth trend.
In 2017, Yuanquan Mushroom Cooperative was founded with the gross investment of 2.9 million CNY, by now, 65 mushroom sheds have been built while the production and management system that focuses on breeding, cultivation, processing and marketing has been formed. Now, it absorbs 80 poor households totalling over 200 poor population and helps them generate per capita annual incomes of above 2000 CNY.
In the meantime of comprehensively pushing mushroom production, the cooperative also constantly develops new mushroom varieties and exploits new markets. In early 2018, Yuanquan Cooperative launched into Pleurotus cornucopiae cultivation by substrate of smashed corncob and corn stalks, which replaces the traditional materials of forest trees while enhancing resource utilization.
“Up to now, we have developed Pleurotus cornucopiae and Pholiota nameko, at present, Pleurotus cornucopiae is in smooth fruiting period and the expected fruiting time of Pholiota nameko is in September,” introduces principal of Yuanquan Mushroom Cooperative warmly, adding that next step, they propose to expand the number of shed to 100 so as to meet a higher market demand.
