Mushroom production stimulates regional economy while providing stable jobs

Guan’nan County, Jiangsu Province of China holds a long history regarding mushroom cultivation. Over the years, the county closely grasps mushroom growing as the leading industry that drives the structural adjustment of agriculture industry and promotes modern and high-efficiency agriculture. Through a series of effective initiatives such as gathering of mushroom gardens, policy support, project motivation, base construction and training guidance, green and high-efficiency production technology and pattern have been constantly launched. In 2017, gross output on fresh mushroom came to 582,000 tons while output value hit 5.03 billion CNY within Guan’nan County.
Mushroom production not only pulls the development of regional economy, but also provides stable jobs. According to statistics, now, there are 16,000 population engaging in factory-mode mushroom production, marketing and logistics within the county, development of mushroom industry indicates a powerful and bright prospect.
