It is essential for a new Oyster Mushroom to have good ventilation conditions, sufficient scattered light, and better disinfection. Lime disinfection on mushroom room is necessary for initial planting. Fumigation disinfection with potassium permanganate plus formaldehyde must be done for old mushroom farm, insecticide spray is also necessary for pest control.
II, selecting correct cultivation materials and reasonable preparation
The raw materials without pollution or impurities should be used, efficient disinfection is also necessary. It is not necessary for raw material cultivation to add nitrogen fertilizer, only for fermented material cultivation, nitrogen fertilizer addition is permitted. Meanwhile, a particular attention should be paid to water content in cultivation materials.
III, selecting a proper mushroom species
A low-temperature type species should be selected for winter cultivation, a high-temperature type species should be selected for spring cultivation. An expired species or a contaminated species should not be used, otherwise, causing spawn-running slowly, fruiting late, even contamination by bacteria, a failing cultivation would occur.
IV , preventing cultivation over-temperature
It is convenient to manage Oyster Mushroom cultivation using raw material bag, with a high harvest. However, if raw material bags pile too high, fermenting would
take place, causing mushroom damage. Therefore, pile height should be proper which is decided according to the temperature.
V, scientific management
In Oyster Mushroom fruiting period, the key measures are to manage light, water, and ventilation; the general scattered light is adequate, insufficient light would affect fruiting; relative humidity is also an important factor for fruiting stage, spraying water into the air is necessary in fruiting period, ventilation is also needed to avoid excessive CO2 concentrations and abnormal mushroom formation.
