Three key problems on fruiting management of Pleurotus geesteranus

1. In mushroom house, status of ventilation and water-spraying should be flexibly regulated by weather. When enhancing the ventilation, growers could consider lee ventilation depending on the direction and force of wind. And, high humidity and slow air movement are unescapable in rainy and foggy day, hence growers could stop spraying water or just spray less water, extend the time of ventilation or enhance it at night.
2. Poor ventilation leads to undesirable growth of mushroom bodies, as a result, mushrooms become malformed and show long stipes, thin and small caps, mycelia go into early senescence and withered situation. Contrarily, excess ventilation results in low humidity, and mushroom caps turn yellow, young mushrooms die of dry. For the first flush of mushroom, bodies lead quick growth speed and vigorous metabolism at a temperature range of 20-25 degrees Celsius, meanwhile, carbon dioxide constantly increases in greenhouse and growers could therefore strengthen the ventilation. During the latter period, carbon dioxide accordingly decreases by reason of small amount of fruiting, in that case, be sure to boost the ventilation while lifting the humidity.
3. Spray water in an even and regular way, be sure to avoid any dead angle and not to do it randomly. After massively spraying water, growers could thoroughly enhance the ventilation for at least 15-30 minutes. Lastly, in the case of windy and dry weather, increase the intensity of water-spraying.
