Button mushroom growing offers secure jobs

On June 13, in mushroom greenhouse managed by Mr. Zhang, one of villagers of Longtou Village, Jiexiu City, Shanxi Province of China, Button mushrooms are in marketing time.
In early 2016, Longtou Village started to lead local farmers to launch into Button mushroom growing. In order to better promote standardized production and arouse growers’ enthusiasm, the village collective provides field for construction of greenhouse and guarantees a series of essential infrastructure such as water and electric net.
“In 2016, i raised 200,000 CNY on construction of 2 mushroom greenhouses, now, 7 cultivation shelves are incorporated in each greenhouse, effective growing area totals 1000 square meters and gross output in each season attains 15kg in each square meter,” introduces Mr. Zhang warmly, adding that during each peak fruiting season, he hires 200 surplus labor to deal with the picking work, which promotes the per capita revenues of 1500 CNY.   
Up to now, 48 high-standard Button mushroom greenhouses have been built within Longtou Village, 38 rural households have been encouraged to embark on mushroom growing, annual output comes to 1 million kg. Next step, committee of Longtou Village is going to raise over 700,000 CNY on building a strain factory which covers 400 square meters, and 9 strain cabinets of Button mushroom.
