Zhejiang: Longquan Shiitake culture fully presents the charm of village planting mushroom

Xiatian village is one of the cradle land to cultivate Shiitake in the world, which is located in Longnan township, Longquan county, Lishui city, Zhejiang province. With a long history in Xiatian village, Skiitake cultivation has become an important living sources for villagers. According to statistics, 100 thousand bags of summer Shiitake, 80 thousand bags of winter Shiitake, and 60 thousand bags of Black fungus were planted in 2014. Meanwhile, Longnan Shiitake Culture Festival is periodically held in Xiatian village, in which many activities are being held, such as Shiitake God worship ceremony, Shiitake pictures exhibition, traditional Wushu demonstration, Huagu drama, Puppet show, et al., enriching the leisure life of growers, improving tour economy, propagating village culture, and promoting publicity of Shiitake brand.
