Guangxi: Mushroom grower groups visited the base planting Giant Abalone Mushroom

In recent days, some grower groups from various localities visited the base planting Giant Abalone Mushroom (GAM), this base is affiliated to Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences. According to reports, GAM has a similar shape to wild Reishi with a large body and a thick cap, the contents of protein and 8 amino acids necessary for human being are increased by 13.4% and 7.1% in fresh GAM than in the same varieties which are from industrialized-production and sold in the market, respectively. It is worth mentioning that GAM can be cultivated using local raw materials such as Eucalyptus sawdust, mulberry, and corn cob. It takes growers only two months from planting to harvesting. The suitable time to plant GAM is in November or next March of every year, its price is above 30 RMB/Kg in the market. Many visiting growers believe that it is a very optimistic project with a fast returns because of lower cost and easily-learning to plant GAM.
