Deep processing of Shiitake contributes to considerable annual output value in Dehong Company

In Tongshan County, Xianning City, Hubei Province of China, Shiitake growing is the pillar industry which helps implement industrial poverty alleviation.
Along with the increase of Shiitake bases and growers, it has become an urgent task on how to build industrial Shiitake chain that integrates production and marketing into one, and lifts its additional value. For solving the problem, Hubei Dehong Agricultural Technology Company which engages in deep processing of Shiitake was introduced to Tongshan County.
“Up to now, all the formalities of the project have been well handled, main works that refer to workshop, factory and office building have been completed while testing of equipment has been carried out, mushroom production could be launched at any moment,” introduces general manager of Hubei Dehong Agricultural Technology Company, adding that the anticipated operation time of the project is in June, in addition to promoting local employment, mode of deep-processing also boosts added value of products while broadening marketing channels.
With the gross investment of 170 million CNY, the project implemented by Dehong Company sets R&D, production, processing and marketing into one, annual capacity on Shiitake production and processing amounts to 3000 tons. Meanwhile, the project aims at the development of Shiitake beverages, cans, foods and a series of pure natural green food, products are expected to enter into Southeast Asia region and create the estimated annual output value of 40 million CNY as well as the foreign exchange earnings of 5 million USD.
Furthermore, the project positively reacts to policy of industrial poverty alleviation, with the specialized operational mode, 10 cooperatives and 1000 standardized mushroom sheds have been developed and built within Tongshan County, annual Shiitake output obtains 15,000 tons.
