Button mushroom cultivation implemented under forest shows a booming path

At present, in Qihe County, Dezhou City, Shandong Province of China, Button mushrooms cultivated under forest are showing desirable growth trend.
Over the years, Qihe County positively adheres to the production mode of “Specialized Mushroom Cooperative+Farm,” strains and technology are provided and guided by specialized cooperatives. After mushrooms are matured, they are marketed by growers. When market price is lower than cultivation cost, local cooperatives implement the acquisition in accordance with conservation price and switch to channels such as deep processing and export so as to guarantee the benefit of growers.
“Compared with factory mode, under-forest mushroom production highlights low cost, convenient and easy operation. In general, 20kg of mushrooms could be yielded in each square meter, to calculate by the conservative price of 6 CNY per kg, gross revenues hit 120 CNY,” introduces one of local mushroom veterans passionately.
In Qihe County, 8000 kg of mushrooms could be cultivated in each mu of forest land, picking period is maintained for 2 months and rate of profit attains about 70%. After the cultivation, wastes could be reused to raise earthworms.
The innovation is Infinite in limited land. The development of forest economy has become a crucial path which promotes growers to increase incomes and go prosperous. By 2018, the estimated gross mushroom output amounts to 169,000 tons while output value hits 1.18 billion CNY within Qihe County.
