Xixia county in Henan province is well-known for Shiitake production in China, Shiitake is one of the most characteristic export products in Xixia. From this year, Nanyang Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau actively stimulated the development of quality safety demonstration area for exported foodstuff and agricultural products, and authentication of the ecological origin, making efforts to foster and help the enterprises exporting mushroom, promoting mushroom industry to transform and upgrade, bringing the rapid growth of exported mushroom .
In 2014, the export sum of mushroom in Xixia firstly exceeded 600 million dollars, attaining 620 million dollars, increased by 26.5% compared with that in 2013, in which Shiitake export took a dominant proportion. The exported Shiitake and its processed products attained 41 thousands tons with value of 570 millions dollars, exported shiitake and value increased 28.1%, and 21.3% respectively, compared with those in 2013. The exported sum of canned Shiitake, Shiitake chips, and flavoured Shiitake together attained 160 millions dollars, accounting for 25.8% of the total exported mushrooms. Deep-processed mushroom industry has become a new growth factor in mushroom export.
At present, the agricultural product export in Xixia outshines others in Henan province, the value of exported mushrooms in Xixia accounts for 73.6% of the total value of exported agricultural products in Nanyang, accounting for one quarter of the total value in Henan province.
