Mushroom cultivation booms as the sunrise industry in Xixia County, Henan Province

Mushroom cultivation has always been a tradition in Xixia County, Henan Province of China. By now, gross mushroom output has obtained more than 200,000 tons, annual output value reached over 2 billion CNY and comprehensive benefits attained above 6 billion CNY in the county.
In 2017, gross foreign exchange on Shiitake export came to 840 million USD in Xixia County, number of enterprise engaging in Shiitake export achieved 62 while products enjoyed good markets in Japan, Korea, Russia, EU and other countries and nations. Besides, as China’s main county of mushroom production and the key distributing centre of mushroom products, Shiitakes produced in Xixia County have been certificated as National Geographic Market Products and Ecological Origin Protection Products.
