Shiitakes cultivated by poor households are coming into market in January

“In my base, 500 mushroom sacks are entering into fruiting period after a month, the expected output on Shiitake comes to over 370 kg,” introduces Mr. Luo, one of local poor households in Gaoqiao Town, Changsha County, Hunan Province of China excitedly.
With the combination between Gaoqiao Town and Changsha Fuxiang Mushroom Co., LTD, 32 poor households are given training course on mushroom cultivation and provided with bags for free.
“Mushroom bags we provide to them are a kind of low-temperature type variety which fits for winter mushroom cultivation,” introduces principal of Fuxiang Company, adding that 7.5kg of Shiitake could be approximately harvested from 10 bags, to calculate by the present market price of 20 CNY per kg, the expected average income reaches 7500 CNY per household.
