Annual income on Button mushroom cultivation attains 1.2 billion CNY

Button mushroom, known as Agaricus bisporus, is a kind of common mushroom variety which holds thick texture, short, rough stipe and gains popularity by customers.
In Xiayi County, Henan Province of China, Button mushroom cultivation is usually launched in August, and marketing time starts from the last ten days of September. Within the county, market price of Button mushroom is at 5-6 CNY per kg.
“In Xiayi County, general preservation time of Button mushroom reaches 3-4 days, in the event of distant transportation, we set the temperature of refrigeration house at about 2 degrees Celsius so that preservation time could be extended to 8-10 days,” introduces principal of Xiayi Mushroom Cooperative passionately.
According to know, in Xiayi Mushroom Cooperative, Straw mushroom and Button mushroom could be cultivated in a greenhouse per year, gross annual economic benefit reaches 5-6 CNY. Now, there are 16 villages and towns engaging in Button mushroom cultivation within Xiayi County, gross number of mushroom greenhouse attains 12,000, annual output comes to 160,000 tons while conservative annual sales value shows 1.2 billion CNY.
