Shiitake industry is blossoming in Shanxi Province, China

At present, in Shiitake greenhouse of Zhanwang Village, Langao City, Shanxi Province of China, Shiitakes are leading satisfactory growth trend and staffs are fiercely carrying out the picking work.
“My parents are getting old and weak, hence it is impossible for me to seek employment outside the village, Shiitake cultivation is the right career to me. This year, i raised over 20,000 CNY on cultivation of 6000 Shiitakes, now, it is the peak picking season, daily picking volume reaches more than 150 kg, after they appear on the market, 1000 CNY could be firmly earned,” introduces one of local poor population in earnest.
Zhanwang Village is backward in economy and scarce in resource while abundant in forests. Under the support of Agricultural and Forestry Bureau, leading enterprises and specialized mushroom talents were introduced to the village in a bid to enhance the development of mushroom industry. By 2017, gross output on Shiitake is expected to obtain 50,000 bags in Zhanwang Village. Next year, a series of varieties such as Black fungus, Ganoderma, Gastrodia elata are in planned introduction, mushroom industry is going to become one of main prosperous projects in the village.
