Official opening of Shiitake trading market indicates a affluent future

Not long ago, the first Shiitake trading market was officially opened in Nanzhang County, Fujian Province of China.
Over the years, relying on abundant advantage of forest resources, Donggong Town of Nanzhang County has been vigorously pushing the development of bag-mode Shiitake industry. Every year, cultivation scale reaches above 20 million bags in the town, 4 Shiitake cooperatives absorb nearly 10,000 people to engage in cultivation, processing and marketing of Shiitake industry.
“I have been engaging in Shiitake cultivation for over 30 years, now, the industry has become the main economic source of my home. This year, my 3 Shiitake greenhouses hold the annual output of above 7000 bags, and output value reaches more than 30,000 CNY,” introduces Mr. Xu, one of local Shiitake growers in Donggong Town, Nanzhang County.
In the town, there was neither large-scale Shiitake trading market nor refrigeration house, and local growers used to process them into dried Shiitakes, which increases the costs while wasting labor power. Now, official opening of the Shiitake trading market is absolutely leading the booming development, with the expected annual transaction volume of 6000 tons on fresh, dried Shiitake and the transaction value of 300 million CNY, the market is going to drive over 500 households to embark on 3000 sticks of Shiitake cultivation and generate annual incomes of over 200 million CNY.
