Fujian Province of China: Scale of mushroom production is increasingly shrinking

Over the years, affected by increase on artificial payment and production costs, large mushroom households have been gradually establishing new bases in economically underdeveloped areas such as Yunnan Province of China, which brings mushroom output down in Putian City, Fujian Province of China.
According to statistics, from the first to the third quarter of this year, mushroom output reached 54,900 tons in Putian City, which shows a year-on-year decrease of 4.7%. Among them, output on Agaricus Blazei and Shiitake respectively obtains 2400 tons and 1200 tons, and shows 19.4% and 2.8% of decrease. Area of mushroom cultivation totaled 6.0763 million square meters, indicating 12% of reduction.
