Cut-log Black fungus cultivation pushes low-income families to grow well-off

Few years ago, after repeated investigations, technical staffs from Beijing Agricultural Technical Promotion station and Cultivation Center of Huairou District decided to launch trial Black fungus cultivation in cut-log mode.
Over the years, Lianggen Village, Huairou District, Beijing of China has been actively strengthening the cultivation, which helps find a good way for abundant wood resources while lifting the poor village out of bitter poverty.
“By the time of this year, we have inoculated 18,000 logs, by the end of this year, the anticipated output on dried Black fungus reaches 1000 kg and gross incomes obtain 300,000 or so,” introduces technical staffs excitedly, saying that they plan to inoculate 20,000-30,000 logs, and the anticipated annual output is going to reach 3000-4000 kg after 3 years.
Cut-log Black fungi are superior mushroom products, to calculate by present market price of 300 CNY per kg, annual revenues come to above 1 million CNY and per capita income achieves 10,000-15,000 CNY in Lianggen Village.
Lianggen Village is located in mountainous region where holds less arable land and scare resource, it is also one of 234 low-income villages in Beijing. Every year, there are 3000 tons of wood cut down and sold at a sacrifice as firewood in the village, income on each ton shows 50 CNY after removing cutting cost. Now, cut-log Black fungus cultivation effectively enhances the utilization rate of waste woods while lifting the income level of local farmers, which achieves a double purpose.
