250 million kg of waste fruit tree branches bring about 100 million Shiitake sticks

Wanrong County, Shanxi Province of China carries the unique label of Strong Fruit Industry, area for fruit forest totals 500,000 mu in the county, each year, above 250 million kg of waste fruit tree branches are produced, which greatly contributes to Shiitake cultivation. According to know, 100 million of Shiitake sticks could be produced via these waste branches, and over 1 kg of Shiitakes could be cultivated from each stick provided that cultivation and picking is proper.
In addition, an industrialized Eryngii enterprise that carries 5 million sticks of annual output has been founded in Wanrong County, which promotes local industrial diversification, the county is also striving to build 100 standardized mushroom demonstration gardens and spur the development of prosperous mushroom industry.
