Large-scale mushroom cultivation via cotton stalks thrives farmers

For years, Guangzong County, Hebei Province of China has been vigorously promoting large-scale mushroom cultivation technology via cotton stalks, guiding farmers to develop characteristic mushroom industry. Junshan Mushroom Cooperative, one of mushroom cooperatives in Guangzong County mainly engages in Ganoderma cultivation, annual sales volume on Ganoderma Powder, Ganoderma slices and Ganoderma bonsai respectively obtains 1500 kg, 130,000 kg and over 3000 pots, products enjoy good population in Beijing City, Tianjin City, Shanghai City and other major cities in China.
Now, Guangzong County carries over 500 mu of mushroom area, main varieties include White fungus, Oyster mushroom, Shiitake and Ganoderma, annual output on fresh mushroom comes to nearly 3000 tons while above 2000 households have been leaded to grow well-off.
