Zhangyun Village, Shanghang County, Fujian Province of China is a revolutionary base village, most of villagers go out for works on account for remote location and inconvenient traffic, the rests are typically poor households. In 2016, Shiitake cultivation was launched after repeated and in-depth investigation. As the first entrepreneurs, Mr. Que established Shiitake greenhouse in the village. On April, 2017, 1250 kg of fresh Shiitakes were harvested while production value totaled 12,500 CNY.
“Zhangyun Village carries humid climatic environment throughout the year, which contributes to the growth and quality of Shiitakes. On occasion of peak picking season, gross picking volume could come to 500 kg,” said Mr. Que in high spirits, adding that by the end of this year, he plans to expand cultivation area to 6000 square meters, help at least 25 poor households get jobs in the base and generate annual per capita income of above 4500 CNY.
