Zhejiang Province of China: Fresh Straw mushrooms are coming into markets

“Straw mushrooms are favored by customers for fresh flavor, recently they are in short supply,” introduces Mr. Lu, one of Straw mushroom cultivators who holds over 30 years of cultivation experience in Shiba Village, Lishui City, Zhejiang Province of China, adding that for recent months, more than 1250kg of Straw mushrooms produced from his 15 farmhouses have been sold out with the present wholesale price of 11.5kg. During peak production season, daily sales volume comes to over 50kg and daily incomes add up to at least 2000 CNY.
In addition to fresh taste, the cultivation technology Straw mushrooms is hard to control. There are fewer people engaged in Straw mushroom cultivation both in and out of Qingyuan County, Lishui City, hence market advantages are evident, which also implies stable price. In view of present growth tendency and market quotation, this year is evidently a bumper year of Straw mushrooms.
