Trial Shiitake cultivation obtained its success in first-grade poor village

Dahuashui Village, Fuquan City, Guizhou Province of China is a typical provincial first-grade poor village that is inhabited by ethnic minorities, poverty alleviation was always a puzzle for local villagers. In April, in view of low costs and quick efficiency, local village cadres established mushroom cooperative, by transferring land, they took the lead on Shiitake cultivation.
According to know, by the first ten days of June, the picking work of the first batch of Shiitake has been finished, over 1000 kg of Shiitakes were harvested in three greenhouses and the gross revenues totaled at least 5000 CNY. By picking Shiitakes, each villager is able to earn the daily incomes of 70-80 CNY. After seeing the evident effect with own eyes, more and more villagers begin to embark on mushroom industry so as to generate revenues, At present, the picking work of the second batch of Shiitake has been started and the expected picking batch could total 9 by the end of this year.
It is revealed that Dahuashui Village situates in remote mountainous region, for many years, villages have been living on traditional agricultural crops, which indicates poor economic sources. At present, among 1444 households, 234 households covering 749 people are still in poor situation, Shiitake cultivation has become the major force to poverty removal in the near future.
