China: Mushroom industry booms poor farmers in Guangxi Province

For recent years, mulberry industry has been rapidly developing in Napo County, Baihe Village, Guangxi Province, the gross area of mulberry garden reaches 13,700 mu while the output of fallen mulberry twigs obtains over 10,000 kg. In order to positively explore new road to generate incomes and grow rich, Baihe Village fully utilizes abundant mulberry twig resources to boostmushroom industry, which realizes turning waste into wealth.
It is understood that in 2010, Zhebing Mulberry Twig Mushroom Cooperative was established. From 2013 to now, the cooperative has successively striven the support funds of 1.9 million CNY for the development of mulberry twig mushroom cultivation and built standardized cultivation base covering the area of 8.6 mu. So far, the base has produced 80,000 mushroom sticks with the production value of 300,000 CNY.
