King oyster mushroom cultivation: Follow 3 steps to obtain high output

2017-05-17 17:05:12

1. Cultivation season: King oyster mushrooms pertain to medium and partial low temperature mushroom variety and normally fruit in spring and autumn, hence the usual period for the production of sack is January-February or August-September.
2. The production of mushroom bag:
Formula: Broad-leaved tree sawdust 73%, bran 25%, lime 1%, gypsum 1%, water content 60%-65%.
Bagging, sterilization, inoculation and cultivation: Put substrates into fungus bags, seal the mouth and then remove them into sterilizing pot. You could begin to calculate the time when temperature reaches to 100 degrees. After 8-12 hours, go on covering for 4-5 hours, then take bags out and cool to room temperature, put into sterilized inoculation room, then remove into cultivation room and keep for about 20-25 degrees centigrade. After 30 days, move them out of fruiting room. Most importantly, the cultivation room should be dark, ventilated and free from damp.Fruiting management:
Temperature control: The sporocarps of King oyster mushroom hold narrow temperature range and are sensitive to temperature, the superior fruiting temperature range is about 15-17 degrees centigrade.
Humidity control: During the growth period of sporocarps, farmers should keep the humidity of mushroom house at about 85%, it is proper to spray water on the ground while eliminating any water-spraying on sporocarps and bag mouths.
Light management: Keep bright light, strong scattered light while avoiding avoid direct sun.
Ventilation: Open doors and windows for 2 or 3 times in a day and each time remains about half an hour.
3. Picking: Mushroom picking could be arranged when the diameter of fungus caps reaches 4-6 centimeters. After the picking, farmers should cover the paper in bag mouth and stop water-spraying. After 5 days, water could be sprayed again to increase moisture and induce the second mushroom growth.
