The growth conditions needed for Coprinus comatus

1. Nutrition: Carbon Source, Xylose, Glucose, Galactose, Maltose, Raffinose, Mannose, Amylum, Cellulose and Paraffin are ideal utilization sources.
2. Temperature: The temperature on spawn growth of Coprinus comatus is in a range of 3-35 degrees, the superior range is 22-28 degrees, the spawns of Coprinus comatus hold strong cold resistance. The temperature on sporocarp growth of Coprinus comatus is in a range of 8-30 degrees, the superior range is 12-18 degrees. Under low temperature, sporocarps lead tardy growth tendency while fungus stipes are easy to extend, fungus caps become thin and small when the temperature hikes to above 20 degrees.
3. Humidity: The ideal water content on compost of Coprinus comatus is 60%-70%, during the spawn-running period, 80% of relative air humidity is preferred and when sporocarps occur, it is best to keep it in a range of 85%-95%.
4. Air: Fresh air is needed on spawn and sporocarp growth of Coprinus comatus.
5. Illumination: During the spawn-growth period, illumination is not required while 50-1000 LUX is needed during the differentiation period of bud and growth period of sporocarps.
6. PH Value: The spawns of Coprinus comatus are capable of growing under the PH Value of 2-10, the ideal condition is 7.
7. Earthing stimulation: It should be kept in mind that the formation of sporocarps can hardly do without earthing stimulation.
