Characteristic mushroom industry lends a helping hand to poverty removal

Recent years, Fenggang County vigorously develops mushroom cultivation. Till now, the area of characteristic mushroom cultivation reaches 8000 mu, of which Shiitake accounts for 1500 mu, Oyster takes 4500 mu and Morel holds 1000 mu. Besides, 8 specialized mushroom cooperatives have been successively built and the number of membership has reached nearly 1600.
It is understood that last April, Fenggang County introduced Morel cultivation project, through large-scale and standardized cultivation mode, Morels have been fruiting from this February, by the first ten days of April, the mu production reached 238kg, the production value totaled 25,000 CNY. The gross production value on 250 mu of land reached 6.25 million CNY, the net revenues added up to 3.25 million CNY while the average mu incomes achieved 13,000 CNY, which is 10 times greater than traditional oil-seed rape and paddy industry. It is evident that mushroom industry effectively boosts local poverty alleviation and summons the pocket for local farmers.
