Enoki Mushroom cultivation becomes a new engine for farmers to earn revenues

In recent years, the agricultural Bureau of Jinxiang County, Shandong Province has been taking the goal of “Help farmers generate incomes” as the primary task and positively adjusting agricultural industrial structure. On the basis of developing the industry of garlic, cotton and pepper, the county also vigorously promotes the development of mushroom industry, especially on Yellow Enoki mushroom.
Up to now, Jinxiang County has built the provincial biggest production base of Yellow Enoki mushroom covering over ten thousands of mu. Now, considerable benefit has been obtained by local farmers. In 2016, the cultivation area of Yellow Enoki mushroom came to 16 million square meters, the gross production totaled 117,000 tons while the production value reached 400 million CNY. According to local mushroom farmers, 50,000 CNY is generally spent on 1 mu of greenhouse while the output comes to 20 tons, the revenues total 70,000-80,000 CNY and the net profits attain 20,000-30,000 CNY.
