Agricultural wastes signify great fortunes

Recently, the farmers in Housai Village, Jinxi County, Jiangxi Province have been busying picking Black fungi. It is understood that Jinxi County is the big country on characteristic agriculture, the cultivation area of fruit and forest trees such as honey pear, orange and mulberry has reached to more than 700,000 mu. Besides, nearly 500,000 tons of waste branches are annually produced from the trees. According to local agricultural department, in recent years, the farmers in the county have been fully utilizing waste branches, sawdust, straws and rice husks to annually cultivate more than 60 million bags of Shiitake, Black fungus, Agrocybe cylindracea and other varieties, which has benefited at least 3000 households, helped generate the incomes of 70,000 CNY for per household and realized the win-win situation on ecological and economic benefits.
