High-temperature and high-humidity environment are obviously prominent during the cultivation period of Straw mushroom, pests and sundry fungi are thus emerging in large numbers. Typical sundry fungi are Coprinus, Trichoderma and Blue Mould. For Coprinus, the main reasons are too high Nitrogen, too low PH Value, halfway fermentation and sterilization. Trichoderma and Blue Mould are always caused by insufficient fermentation and too low temperature in mushroom house. Faced with these sundry fungi, you could firstly choose raw materials which are fresh and free from mould, then control the Nitrogen proportion within 5% when you add auxiliary materials. Thirdly, control the water content to 70% or so, after that, conduct thorough sterilization and make sure that PH Value is less than 7.
Main pests that harm Straw mushrooms are mites, flies and nematodes which eat and bite on spawns, however, experts have found that looking out the environmental health of mushroom house and surrounding areas does some good on controlling them. When you find mites, it is efficient to apply 500-1000 times of Chlorfenethol. To control nematodes, be sure to strictly control the water content of compost in 70% or so, then additionally warm up and sterilize 6-12 hours after arranging fungi bed.
Another several methods on mushroom flies control:
1. Tightly cover thin firm when you pile up and ferment.
2. When sowing, prevent mushroom flies from entering into mushroom house, after sowing, cover thin film and then spray DDVP Solution. Moreover, mice also jeopardize compost, harm spawns and affect mushroom yield, thus should be particularly and strictly avoided.
