Mushroom helped the masses to open new channels of raising income

It is reported that recently, wild mushrooms of Changning County, Yunnan Province are enjoying a ready market, among them, the price of white Boletus has risen from 20 CNY to 40 CNY per kg. The price of Sparassis crispa has increased from 800 CNY to 900 and 1000 CNY, which brought considerable incomes for local villagers.
Sijiaotian Village, Changning County covers an forestland area of 34,000 acres. Under the guidance of local County Forestry Bureau, local villagers engaged in closing hillside and cultivating mushroom in accordance with contract area. They also promoted artificial reproduction technology of wild mushrooms by building cooperative. Sijiaotian Villages supported large-scale growers and peasant brokers to develop the cultivation and strengthened brand publicity. From May to October of each year, Sparassis crispa, white Boletus, Chanterelle, Lactarius volemus and Virscent russule compete with each other for marketing and attract many purchasers.
By calculating, the incomes of the whole village by developing wild mushrooms has increased from 1.2 million CNY in 2007 to more than 10 million CNY in 2015. Each family gets an average income of more than 14,000 CNY and some even get more than 100,000 CNY.
