The cultivation method of “short cultivation” on Pleurotus nebrodensis

After growing full spawns in fungi sack, it is impossible for Pleurotus nebrodensis to directly get fruited. Fruiting will happen after passing a latter period of ripening. But that period often becomes a technical obstacle which is hard for many farmers to overcome. According to different characteristics of spawns, 30 to 60 days are needed for this period, about 80 days are even needed for some individual strains, which is inconvenient in arrangement of production and greatly extend the production period of mushroom.
Therefore, people could adopt the superior and high -yield cultivation technology of “short cultivation”, by regulating and controlling measures artificially, latter period of ripening can be greatly shorten. Basic method is to adjust the temperature in about 30 degrees to make spawns fully grow, then lower the temperature such as moving fungi sack to low-temperature cold store, which is a realistic way, then remain for about 15 days in 0 to 10 degrees to make spawns form self production under the condition of relatively discomfort and accelerate the process of growing.  
When finding that the color of fungi sack is more white, has the sound of hollow wood when knocking, has higher hardness and strong elasticity, people could remove fungi sack out of cold store and put into plastic greenhouse. People should try to increase the temperature of greenhouse, increase humidity, give moderate strong flashes and major biggish ventilation. After about one week, inoculated part will appear yellowish liquid. On that occasion, people should try to lower temperature till finding buds. In general, this period should be arranged in before and after the middle of November. The temperature of greenhouse should be kept under 15 degrees. It is alright to cover straw mat tightly, increase the ventilation in the morning, evening and at night. Water spraying on the ground and in the space should be increased at the same time. Mushroom buds will quickly form in 1 to 2 days under the condition of 10 degrees. In general, each surface has only 1 to 3 mushroom buds, before completely differentiation, people should conduct the disposal of thinning and only keep one bud. In normal conditions, big, even, upright and white superior mushrooms will appear.
